I wish to acknowledge that the land on which I work from, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. The traditional Blackfoot name of this place is "Moh'kins'tsis", which we now know as the City of Calgary. This is the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations). Other Nations who are a part of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta also call this place home, which includes the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations).  This territory is also home to the Otipemisiwah Métis Government of the Métis Nation within Alberta Districts 5 and 6.
