At the core of our Wellness Centre programs is Family Violence Prevention. Niitoiyis Family Support Society works to stop family violence and all abuse. We provide the necessary support to help our clients find security, and finally, our ultimate goal, is to guide affected people to empower change in their own lives.

FAMILY VIOLENCE PREVENTION
Providing Family Violence education to families & groups. Support and counselling to women & children experiencing family violence.
Services are provided through partnerships.
Niitoiyis helps build healthy and positive community through the families in those communities. By reaching out into the community, we can have a positive impact on some of the root causes of family violence and abuse and work to help prevent them in the first place.

JOURNEY TO MEN'S
MENTAL HEALTH
Supports for men who have been either perpetrators or survivors of abuse to heal and evolve by connecting with traditional cultural teachings. All cultures are welcome.

A place to share, reconnect with culture, eat, and participate in songs

Offsite workshops and programming such as hand drum making, tipi sessions, and horse therapy

FAMILY RESOURCE NETWORK
Supports for families in the Calgary Area to empower and embrace their unique identities and varied cultures, by sharing Indigenous culture and traditions.​

Family Traditions & Parenting Skills Development such as Triple P. Positive Parenting Plan. Sessions are completed within 8 weeks.

Youth Circles for children ages 6 - 12.

Programs also include:

Healthy Babies Network:
A prenatal nutrition program funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada. We support women
and their families by providing them with the basic necessities for infants until they reach the age of 1.
Grandmother Turtle :
A collaboration with the Calgary Board of Education. This program focuses on the Seven Sacred Teachings and is geared towards children 7 years and under. Each session is led by an Elder.

YOUTH MENTORSHIP
The Youth Mentorship Program is for any youth aged 13-17. Program sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-6:30 PM.
Light snacks are provided. The program consists of traditional Indigenous teachings, cultural awareness and support as well as physical wellness and recreational events.
Teen-related topics such as healthy relationships, bullying, violence prevention, etc. are also explored by the program.
Youth Mentorship focuses on a culture of healing and advocates for a strong sense of belonging by fostering a community of safety, empowerment and respect.
